The Lean Six Sigma White Belt course introduces Lean and Six Sigma principles, terms, methods, and tools that can be applied immediately in any business to begin driving higher quality and efficiency. In this course, you’ll learn how to:

  • Create a SMART problem statement that will be the foundation of success for your project
  • Develop all the necessary components of a project charter and present it concisely on one slide
  • Facilitate a process mapping session to gain unique insights into the problem you are solving
  • Gather baseline metrics to measure the performance of a process
  • Set goals for your process improvement even if you are unsure of what a feasible goal might be
  • Define Value Add vs. Non-Value Add in a process
  • Identify the 8 types of waste common in most processes
  • Conduct brainstorming techniques that can be used at any point in the project to generate breakthrough ideas
  • Organize brainstorming ideas to get even deeper insights
  • Use root cause analysis to understand the few factors that are contributing to most of the problems in an organization
  • Incorporate visual controls into a process to make your process flow seamlessly
  • Pick the best solution to solve your problem if there are many to choose from
  • Apply change management techniques to your improvement to ensure you implement your solution successfully
  • Communicate across multiple stakeholders to make sure everyone stays on the same page.
  • Pilot improvements before implementing them broadly to make sure the solution works.
  • Sustain the gain of your improvement over the long run.
  • Follow up on your solution after the project is implemented to make sure it is still working well.
  • Conduct a proper hand-off of a project to the business.
  • The importance of celebrating success at the project closure.

All these topics are taught within the structure of the proven DMAIC problem-solving methodology. Participants get first-hand experience applying these concepts to a simulation that is embedded through the course from beginning to end. They will take a bad process and, working as a team, use the concepts and tools learned to complete a short project and create an improved process by the end of the class.

At the end of the class and at the conclusion of the final run of the simulation, students will receive a Lean Six Sigma White Belt certification along with a LinkedIn skill endorsement for Process Improvement, Continuous Improvement, Process Mapping, Data Collection, Root Cause Analysis, and Change Management.

As a bonus, there are multiple exercises throughout the class where participants think about their own processes and opportunities for improvement that they can take back to their organizations to begin applying what they learn immediately.

Start thinking about how you can start applying these concepts to your business by signing up for the Lean Six Sigma White Belt certification today!
